WHERE CHATTERS GO TO TALK ABOUT OFF TOPIC STUFF!
This week Sunday marks the 33rd Survivor Series PPV event. Known for Elimination style team matches, the Survivor Series has also been used by the WWE to have in-ring debuts for some of it's biggest stars. Previous Survivor Series PPV events saw the in-ring debuts of WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, now going by Jon Moxley in AEW), The Man They Call Sting (WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!), Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (As Rocky Maivia)...but he isn't even the biggest WWE star to debut...that distinction goes to the Phenom himself, The Undertaker. This year promises something unique too. Not only will it feature the Raw Roster vs. the Smackdown Roster, but this year, they are adding in NXT. NXT is technically the WWE's developmental territory. But thanks to Triple H, who has been allowed by Vince McMahon to do whatever he wants with it, and the training by the legendary Heartbreak Kid himself, Shawn Michaels, NXT has become a vital part of the WWE Universe. If you like storylines, you will enjoy Raw and Smackdown. But if you just want straight out wrestling, great matches between wrestlers being put on without all of the drama, NXT is where it's at. NXT is arguably a legitimate 3rd brand of the WWE now, not the minor leagues. Universal Championship -- "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Daniel Bryan: - Daniel Bryan is a worthy challenger, but it's way too soon to strip Wyatt of the belt. Bray Wyatt retains. Women's Champions -- Becky Lynch (Raw) vs. Bayley (SmackDown) vs. Shayna Baszler (NXT): - I want Shayna Baszler to pick up the upset win, but instead, we will see Becky Lynch pick up the win, after Baszler puts on a respectable showing. The idea is to make NXT look good, legitimate, not put them over Raw or Smackdown. Possible, but highly unlikely surprise: Ronda Rousey makes her WWE return. Mid-card Champions -- AJ Styles (U.S.) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (Intercontinental) vs. Roderick Strong (North American): - I'll take Shinsuke Nakamura in this one. Men's Tag Team Champions -- The Viking Raiders (Raw) vs. The New Day (SmackDown) vs. Undisputed Era (NXT): - It wasn't long ago that the Viking Raiders were in NXT as the War Raiders. If the belts were on the line, I say Viking Raiders get the win...but since this is a non-title match? Undisputed Era gets the upset victory. Men's Survivor Series Elimination Match -- Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre & Ricochet) vs. Team Smackdown (Roman Reigns, King Corbin, Ali, Shorty G, and Braun Strowman) vs. Team NXT: - I am leaning towards Team Smackdown. Barring some major shenanigans, Braun Strowman is gonna be TOUGH to eliminate. Women's Survivor Series Elimination Match -- Team Raw (Charlotte Flair, Natalya, The Kabuki Warriors & Sarah Logan) vs. Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans & Nikki Cross) vs. Team NXT: - Given that they JUST moved both Natalya and Asuka (of the Kabuki Warriors) from Smackdown over to Raw just yesterday, honestly? I don't have a freaking clue what the WWE intends for this match. Let's go with Team NXT, just because. WWE Survivor Series predictionsNXT Cruiserweight Championship -- Lio Rush (c) vs. Angel Garza: - I am exactly 50.01% confident that Lio Rush retains.
